Please fill out my online intake form at least 24 hours before your first session to allow more time for bodywork.Your first session will include an assessment of posture and mobility, as well as a discussion of your health history and any current injuries. If you have any paperwork or X-rays from an injury please bring them along to discuss. The remaining time will be used for bodywork, including instructions on home stretches that will assist your healing outside of our massage time.

At the end of your first session, we will determine the best treatment plan for you according to your personal needs and healing goals.

First time intake for musicians includes a body mechanics assessment while playing your instrument. Please wear loose clothing and bring your instrument. 80 minutes is recommended to allow time for the intake and a full bodywork session.

I don't think I ever would have discovered a massage therapy that is so close to my values of stillness and acceptance without knowing Breana. It is more like a physical therapy where you are allowed to movie and explore. On top of this - Breana has a special sense - she always finds a spot of stress I wasn't aware of - that shows me the interconnectedness of the body. LA: Go book a session with her now!

About the Therapist

Breana Gilcher (she/her) is a certified massage therapist, professional musician, and teacher. She completed her massage studies at Hands on Healing in Tujunga, California in 2022 and studied Myofascial Release with Francis Nicholas and Jenni Asher. Breana holds additional certifications in Music Therapy (MT-BC) and Personal Training (CPT), as well as a certificate in Performing Arts Medicine from the Performing Arts Medicine Association. She is a special faculty member at California Institute of the Arts, where she teaches Anatomy for Musicians, a class which introduces performing artists to fundamental anatomy concepts and their applications to a pain-free music career.

Having struggled with playing-related injuries and found Myofascial release to be incredibly beneficial to her own recovery and maintenance, one of Breana’s passions is to provide artists with specialized treatment that understands the demands of a creative occupation, both before and/or after an injury. She carries a certificate in Performing Arts Medicine from the Performing Arts Medicine Association and completed an internship in Myofascial release for performing artists with Jenni Asher. One of her specialities is working with instrumentalist bodymechanics for injury prevention and increased artistic freedom, and she does this with Jenni as part of the Musician Bodywork team.

As a therapist Breana’s goal is to provide outstanding treatment in a gentle, soothing space in which the body feels safe to let go of what it no longer needs.
